Seat belt usage to be enforced this holiday weekend
The official Memorial Day holiday weekend begins at 6 p.m. Friday, and runs through midnight Monday.

The Michigan State Police is reminding residents to wear their seat belts and drive safely over the holiday weekend. Troopers will be paying special attention to the highways as part of Operation C.A.R.E., or Combined Accident Reduction Effort. They'll also join more than 500 other law enforcement agencies in enforcing the Buckle Up or Pay Up, Click It or Ticket safety belt campaign.
