Bill may affect forest industry
(2007-03-31)
(wnmu) - The Michigan Forest Products Council says state budget cuts will have a negative impact on the forest industry. The council is asking the house to reject Governor Jenifer Granholm's recent executive order and appropriations bill. The order will reduce funding by $20 million says Kevin Korpi, executive director of MFAA. He also says that this budget will severely hurt forestry production and could also affect company jobs. Korpi is hoping the House will reject the bill and avoid cutting any of the 150,000 people that the company employs. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
