MARQUETTE, MI
(wnmu) -
There's no way to tell how separate university funding bills would affect Northern Michigan University. That's according to NMU President, Dr. Les Wong. Under Governor Granholm's recent proposal, the University of Michigan, Michigan State and Wayne State would be separated into their own budget bill. Wong says he's neither for nor against the proposal. He says he first needs to know how funding would be disbursed. The big-three universities say their efforts in research, medicine and law should put them in a different funding category. Wong argues Northern is different as well, due to its comprehensive mission and rural location. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
