IRS warns taxpayers of fraud
(2007-03-16)
(wnmu) - The Internal Revenue Service is asking all taxpayers be cautious when filing tax forms online. The IRS website is located at www.irs.gov, and officials are warning taxpayers to watch out for websites posing as the i-r-s by using the acronym followed by the incorrect dot-com, dot-org, or dot-net. Websites posing as the IRS often ask for personal financial information used to steal taxpayers identity. It is also important to watch out for e-mails that state they are from the irs. Any person who believes they have received a fraudulent e-mail is advised not to open any links, attachments or websites from the sender. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
