The IRS website is located at www.irs.gov, and officials are warning taxpayers to watch out for websites posing as the i-r-s by using the acronym followed by the incorrect dot-com, dot-org, or dot-net. Websites posing as the IRS often ask for personal financial information used to steal taxpayers identity. It is also important to watch out for e-mails that state they are from the irs. Any person who believes they have received a fraudulent e-mail is advised not to open any links, attachments or websites from the sender.
