The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is reminding ice fishermen to remove ice shanties before March 15. Upper michigan residents may keep shanties out until the ice is unsafe for a shanty to be out overnight or March 31. Individuals who's shanties fall through the ice may face fines up to $500 and or 30 days in jail.
