University presidents seek secure funding
(2007-03-07)
(wnmu) - The presidents of three Upper Peninsula universities are stressing the need for support. Les Wong, Glenn Mroz, and Betty Youngblood, of Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, and Lake Superior State Universities, respectively, say funding must be protected. The presidents testified Tuesday before the Michigan Appropriations Subcommittee in charge of funding higher education. The schools have a combined enrollment of more than 19,000 students, and are among the largest employers in the U.P. The presidents say Michigan must invest in higher education in order to attract good-paying, 21st-century jobs. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
