MARQUETTE, MI
(wnmu) -
A Marquette committee has recommended negotiating with a Minnesota developer on the sale of sites on Founders Landing. The Developer Solicitation Committee made the recommendation to the City Council Monday, following an eight-month consideration of various proposals. The Urban Project based in Minneapolis wants to acquire and develop all three waterfront sites. Committee spokesman Jack LaSalle says The Urban Project's plan is to concentrate on new urbanism, high-performance "green" construction, and environmental preservation. The developer will present its plan to the City Commission March 7th at 7 p.m. in Commission chambers. The Commission will then consider the recommendation as a first reading.
