A downstate man is dead, following a snowmobile accident in Schoolcraft County. Troopers from the Newberry Post say the incident occurred Monday around 7 p.m. on Trail 431 in Seney Township. Timothy Pierson, 46, of Otter Lake was northbound about 3.3 miles north of M-28 when he lost control of the machine and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
