MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI
(wnmu) -
The Marquette County Humane Society is helping to control the pet population. February 27 is "Spay Day USA." To mark the event, the Humane Society is offering lower-cost surgeries to spay or neuter area pets. Supervisor Dayna Kennedy says Spay Day is an effort to decrease the number of animals in shelters. All veterinary clinics in Marquette County are participating in the week-long event. She says companion animals who are spayed and neutered are healthier, live a little longer, and have fewer behavioral problems. Surgeries are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
