Officials say foster families are needed for the entire Upper Peninsula. Kathy Tyler is a coordinator with Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan. She says thousands of children in the area are victims of homelessness, abuse and neglect, or domestic violence, and need caring foster parents to do everything for them a biological family would. Tyler says foster families help nurture social skills in affected children. For more information, call 249-5437.
