A Wisconsin man is dead, following a two-vehicle accident in Ontonagon County. Troopers from the Ontonagon Detachment and Wakefield Post say the incident occurred Friday around 3:15 p.m. on US-45 near Military Hill. 40-year-old Gary Hakamaki of Cromwell, Minnesota was driving a pickup truck and trailer full of snowmobiles when he encountered whiteout conditions. He was unable to stop for a vehicle that had slowed in front of him. In an attempt to avoid the vehicle, Hakamaki pulled into the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by 62-year-old Eugene Kelly, Jr. of Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Kelly became trapped under the snowmobile trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation. © Copyright 2013, wnmu
