Soldiers return home

Calumet-based members of the National Guard are returning home early next week. According to Deputy Public Affairs Officer Captain Corissa Barton, the soldiers are part of the 1431st Sapper Company of the National Guard's 107th engineering battalion. Approximately 120 soldiers served with the company for a year in Afghanistan. There is not an exact date of when they will return home. The soldiers will be to taken to the same mobilization site they were taken to before leaving for Afghanistan and then from there will travel to Michigan to reunite with family and friends in Calumet.
