DEQ releases water goals UNDATED (wnmu) - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has released a list of goals for protecting the state's water. The Measures of Success document identifies five goals critical to that effort. They include ensuring safe drinking water; protecting groundwater; enhancing recreational waters; ensuring safe; consumable fish; and protecting and restoring aquatic ecosystems. Measureable outcomes have been created for each goal to determine success in those areas.
