Marquette man convicted in drug felonies

(wnmu) - A former Chicago and Marquette man was convicted of multiple drug felonies in U.S. District Court in Marquette. Thirty-seven year old Kevin Jermaine Rodgers was convicted after a 3 day trial, his most serious conviction being conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, or crack cocaine. This felony carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in jail and a maximum possible sentence of life in jail. The charges were brought forth after a 2008 investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team. Rodgers will be sentenced by Judge Robert Holmes Bell on February 5th, 2010 in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.
