Wells Township woman assaulted after home invasion
(2009-11-03)
William Griggs
(wnmu) - State Police from the Negaunee Post are searching for a man accused of entering a Wells Township home and sexually assaulting a woman. The victim reported a man came to her house Monday night around 10:20, saying he'd lost his dog and wanted to give her information in case she found it. Once at the door the man entered the house, grabbed the 64-year-old woman, and threw her to the floor. Officials say the victim was able to grab a hammer and defend herself from more serious harm. The suspect then fled the residence.

Troopers are looking for William Griggs, 28, a 5'8", 175-pound white male with hazel eyes and long brown hair. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call State Police at 475-9922.
