Five years to the day of the largest blackout in North America, the lights went out again in several Cleveland suburbs.

About 15,000 residents were in the dark Thursday morning. The area includes Walton Hills, where the major blackout five years ago originated.

FirstEnergy Corp. spokesman Mark Durbin says crews were called out about 9 a.m. to a transformer problem and have not identified the cause. Power was restored about two hours later.

The 2003 blackout left 50 million customers in seven states and portions of Ontario without power.
