In 2007, the University of Vermont established a policy that all new construction and renovations to buildings on campus must meet the silver LEED environmental standards. The newest building on the UVM campus has exceeded that ranking and is the first of its type in the country to receive a gold designation. North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley toured the new student center at UVM.
