Wild for Monarchs Natural Yards Tour & Lecture

Wild Ones Natural Landscapes hosts two days of tours of natural yards and public spaces to show how home owners can invite birds and butterflies, including the Monarchs, to their yards, school or church grounds, or business. The tour of nine private yards and public spaces is free. A milkweed plant will be given to each family that attends to plant in their yard to help save Monarch butterflies. A lecture by Dr. Michael Jeffords kicks off the tour at 9:00 am on July 26th at NIU-Rockford campus, 8500 E. State Street, Rockford. Jeffords will talk about "Surrounding Yourself with Nature: Strategies for the Home Landscape." A $5 donation is requested for the lecture. Tour guides are posted at www.WildOnesRRVC.org.
