The Fourth of July is when we celebrate our country's independence. In the 1860's, however, it did not look like the whole country would celebrate independence on the same date for long. On Thursday, July 3 at 12:00 noon, the Sycamore History Museum will be hosting Dennis Maher for the monthly Brown Bag Lunch talk. He will explore "Civil War Casualties and Prisons".
The Museum's exhibit "General Dutton's America" features the story of General Dutton's life 1839 - 1900. Programs through the year will expand upon topics introduced in the exhibit. The fact that the Civil War had more casualties than any other war helps us to better understand Dutton and his encounters during the war.
