Peter Fletcher will perform a concert of classical guitar music at the Princeton Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2. Hconcert is part of a nationwide tour, under the auspices of Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists, to promote his newest recording project, a CD devoted to Edvard Grieg, to be released this Fall by Centaur Records, for which Fletcher himself has written the guitar transcriptions. CDs will be available at the concert. Fletcher will perform Grieg selections from the new CD, as well as major works including Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring; Courante from the Third Cello Suite by Bach; music from Michael Praetorius’s Terpsichore; Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega and Leyenda by Isaac Albéniz; and a Passacaglia by Girolamo Frescobaldi. The final work on the program will be Fletcher’s transcription of Paganini’s dazzling Caprice no. 24.
