Stanley Campbell, director of Rockford Urban Ministries, will show and tell his collection of old abolitionist (anti-slavery) newspapers from 1835 to 1865, shortly after the civil war, in the public listening room of JustGoods Fair Trade Store, Rockford.
The free talk is sponsored by Rockford Peace & Justice Action Committee, which also hosts a special sale of civil rights and Black memorabilia books and posters as well as a display of political pins from the civil rights era in honor of Black History Month.
