The National Weather Service's SKYWARN is a volunteer program with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to local officials.
Each year the Kane County Office of Emergency Management sponsors a county-wide severe weather spotters training class conducted by the National Weather Service. This year’s class is being held in Elgin Community College’s Seigle Auditorium, on Thursday, February 28th beginning at 7 p.m.
This event is free for all weather enthusiasts and seating is available on a first come first seated basis.
