Rockford Urban Ministries is hosting a program on immigration rights on Thursday, February 28, 7:00 p.m., at Brooke Road United Methodist Church. Fred Tsao, Policy Director for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, will be the speaker. Tsao will talk about developments on immigration, most significantly the growing importance of Latino and immigrant voters and the prospects for immigration reform this year. He will also provide updates on recent actions on the federal and state level, including new federal initiatives for undocumented youths and families and the new Illinois driver’s license law. |
