The winners of each category are determined by an on-line vote combined with the views of panels of writers and experts.
The categories often change from year to year, so says Elizabeth Licata, editor of Buffalo Spree.
With categories such as "Best Guilty Pleasure" and "Most Beautiful City Neighborhood," Licata says Spree's writers are able to bring "personality" to the annual edition.
The magazine will be available at stores later this week following the Best of WNY 2010 party on Thursday at Shea's Performing Arts Center. Here's more information.
