Judge Counts Davis Out of Congressional Race
(2008-09-19)
The race for Congress is over for Jack Davis.
(wned) - The name of Jack Davis will not appear on the November ballot in the 26th Congressional District.

A State Supremce Court Judge ruled Thursday against Davis' claim as a candidate on the Save Jobs and Farms party line.

Davis created the party earlier this summer and then scrambled to gather enough petitions to garner a line on the November ballot. However, the State Board of Elections ruled that the new party failed to file in a timely fashion.

After a pair of close losses to incumbent Tom Reynolds in 2004 and 2006, Davis appeared to be in good position to win the seat after Reynolds announced his retirement earlier this year.

Despite spending heavily from his personal fortune, Davis finished a distant third in a three-way Democratic Primary, which elected Alice Kryzan as its candidate.
