NFTA Considers Fare Hike BUFFALO (wned) - The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is said to be considering a
25 cent fare increase, from a $1.50 to $1.75, for Metro bus and rail.

Ridership has risen dramatically because of high gasoline costs, but so, too, have operating costs, according to
the N-F-T-A.

The Authority's Board of Commissioners is expected to act on the proposed fare increase at its meeting next month.

If approved, the new fares would likely go into effect on January 1st.
