County Executive says he is "knee deep" in the budget process.

BUFFALO (wned) - With Wall Street generating nearly 20% of the state's budget, the financial crisis is hitting hard in Albany.

That effect will trickle down to Erie County, so says County Executive Chris Collins.

He believes that the state government will once again "tinker around the edges" in spending cuts rather deal with more meaningful issues like Medicaid and the Taylor Labor Laws.

The County Executive is "proceeding with caution" as he develops next year's budget.
