U-B Launches Department of Biomedical Engineering

Buffalo's John R. Oishei Foundation is providing a $3-million grant for the new U-B Department.
"This really fits true of the major initiatives of the Oishei Foundation," said foundation presidentRobert Gioia.
The grant will be used to hire eight full-time faculty members, who will work with 20 current faculty members from other departments.
Also today, Buffalo-based Cleveland BioLabs announced it is receiving a
$13.3-million Federal Grant to help development of an anti-radiation
