Cole Loses Assembly Seat in Primary BUFFALO (wned) - Unlike Assemblyman Sam Hoyt, Republican Michael Cole lost his primary to keep his assembly seat.

Cole, like Hoyt, had been embroiled in a controversial association with a legislative intern.

He lost a 4-way primary Tuesday to businesswoman Jane Corwin, who campaigned as a reform candidate with the guidance of Erie County Executive Chris Collins.

Corwin claimed 45% of the vote in the 142nd Assembly district, while Cole recieved 35%, Leonard Roberto, 17% and Jeffrey Bono, 3%.
