Sedita Prevails in Three-Way Primary
Frank Sedita III won the three-way Democratic Primary Tuesday over fellow challenegers Kenneth Case and Diane LaVallee in the race to succeed retiring DA Frank Clark.
"I'm going to run my record...we want to have a debate. We want to talk about ideas," Sedita said.
Sedita earned 45-percent of the vote while Kenneth Case gained 33-percent and Dianne LaVallee 22-percent. LaVallee will be running as the Republican candidate in the fall election.
Sedita, an assistant district attorney under Frank Clark, is the son of Judge Frank Sedita, Jr., and grandson of former Buffalo Mayor Frank Sedita.
The race to serve as judge in Erie County Family Court remained close at the end of Primary Day. Lisa Bloch-Rodwin had a slight edge over Buffalo City Court Judge Jeannette Ogden in a four-way Democratic Primary.
With or without the Democratic nod, Bloch-Rodwin will appear on the November ballot on the Republican and Independence lines.
"This is a dream of service...there are families and children in crisis who have no one but family court to turn to," said Bloch-Rodwin.
Attorney Barbara Nuchereno gained 19-percent of the vote while fellow attorney Michale Feeley garnered 15-percent.
Rodwin was appointed by Governor Paterson in April as Erie County Family Court Judge.
