Indian Commission Issues Notice of Violation to Senecas
The National Indian Gaming Commission says the temporary casino could be shut down within five days.
Back in July, Federal District Judge William Skretny ruled the casino is operating illegally.
On Wednesday, the Senecas issued a written statement saying they will appeal the commission's decision.
Attorney Neil Murray, who represents the anti-casino group, Citizens for a Better Buffalo, says the Senecas are running out of options.
"If they adopt a posture of defiance, then we'll ask our government...to enforce the law," Murray said.
For now, the Senecas continue to operate the temporary casino and say they have no intentions of closing.
