BUFFALO, NY (wned) - Russ Gugino, western New York coordinator for the John McCain campaign, believes the buzz provided by Governor Palin's addition to the Republican ticket may be enough to overcome Barack Obama's eight point poll lead in New York State.

Gugino made that assertion a few hours after Palin's speech, which aroused the Republican National Convention.

A veteran of Republican conventions since 1980, Gugino called it one of the best speeches he's ever heard.
