Ambassador Bridge Group Advance Plans for Local Span

BUFFALO (wned) - It continues to be "full steam ahead" for the Michigan-based Ambassador
Niagara Signature Bridge Group, the private company that wants to build a new bridge between Buffalo and Fort Erie.

The group has applied for a "presidential permit" from the U-S State Department, according to Ambassador's Regional Director in Buffalo, Jim Kane.

Ambassador envisions building its span a mile and a half north of the Peace Bridge, in close proximity to the International Railroad Bridge in Buffalo's Black Rock section.

The Peace Bridge Authority remains strongly opposed to Ambassador's plan.
