In its efforts to help victims of domestic abuse, the Family Justice Center of Erie County offers a wide array of services.

Taking what it calls a "one-stop" approach, the FJC allows victims a chance to meet with a prosecutor, talk with a counselor and have injuries examined, in a secure environment.
FJC's newest initiative is spreading the word regarding its services.
"One of the biggest problems for domestic violence victims is they don't know where to turn," said Jim Gerace, president of Verizon's New York region.
To that end, the Verizon Foundation awarded a $20,000 grant to the FJC's Ambassadors Program.
Gerace called the outreach program "a grassroots effort" of staff and volunteers in publicizing the FJC and its services.
In an interview with WNED News, Gerace offers the background of Verizon's involvement with domestic abuse issues and the grant provided to the Family Justice Center.
