Paladino to Announce Candidacy for Governor Today
About 1,000 supporters are expected to gather to hear Paladino's announcement.
Paladino, 63, is seeking the Republican nomination and plans to battle Rick Lazio in a GOP primary. He's pledged to spend up to $10-million of his own money on the campaign.
Paladino also has the support of local leaders of the "tea party" movement.
He promises to cut state spending by 10 percent and freeze wages and benefits for state workers. Paladino recently came under fire for predicting the new federal health care law will result in more deaths than the terrorist attacks of 2001.
Following his Monday evening announcement, Paladino will travel to Albany, New York and Syracuse to launch his campaign.

Buffalo's Carl Paladino will officially announce his candidacy for governor Monday. The millionaire developer and attorney will kick off his campaign at a rally inside the Ellicott Square Building late Monday afternoon.About 1,000 supporters are expected to gather to hear Paladino's announcement.
