State Senate Opposes Terror Trials in NYC
Senators passed a resolution Tuesday sponsored by Republican Vincent Leibell calling on the Obama Administration to move the trials of those linked to the September 11 attacks out of Manhattan and the civilian court system, back to a military tribunal.
Leibell says holding the terror trial in New York would put too many lives at risk.
"If we wish to be politically correct, especially with this type of enemy, we Anericans can be politically correct all the way to the cemetery," Leibell said.
Opponents also claim the trial would be too costly for the city and could disrupt business.
The White House has not ruled out holding the trial in New York but says other trial sites are under consideration.
