Local Toyota Dealers Ready for Recall Crush
"There's really no way for us to tell how many vehicles are on the road that are affected by this recall," says Greg Schreiber of Northtown Toyota.
He calculates the five Toyota dealers in Western New York sold about 7,600 new vehicles each and every year for the last several years.
While the corporate parent has been criticized for initially bumbling details of the recall, Schreiber says Northtown's service department will be open "for 24 hours during the work week...for as long as needed."
Though dealers expect to be inundated with recall work, Schreiber says the modification of the troubled accelerator takes a little over a half hour to do the entire repair.
