Investigators Appeal for Help in North Collins Murder BUFFALO (wned) - Erie County Sheriff's Investigators are asking for the public's help in the recent murder of a developmentally disabled woman.

23-year-old Laura Cummings was found dead in her North Collins home January 21. her mother, Eva Cummings, and her 31-year-old brother Luke Wright were arraigned last week on a murder charge.

Captain Ron Kenyon says Cummings was physically abused for years before she was killed. Investigators believe some of the abuse was seen in public places. They are trying to show a pattern of conduct to strengthen their case.

"We're just looking for anything that's out there. We know it's out there," said Kenyon. "The person who saw something a few years ago and failed to make the call, you're not our target. We need the information you have."

Anyone who may have seen Laura Cummings being abused is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 858-2903.
