114th Turkey Trot Enjoys Record Run BUFFALO (wned) - Dennis Pollow, Junior, of Ransomville was the first of a record-setting 12,000 participants to cross the finish line in the 114th running of the Buffalo-Niagara YMCA Turkey Trot.

The first woman across the line was Canisius College junior Maura Frauenhofer.

Race organizers restricted participation to 12,000 and stopped registration on Wednesday night. The race is the oldest of its kind in the nation.

The event has become a notable holiday social event as evidenced by the race's official results. Over 1,000 registrants failed to cross the finish line.
