Former Hamburg Detective Sentenced for Working with Biker Gang
BUFFALO
(wned) -
A former Hamburg police detective has been sentenced to four months in prison for sharing classified information with a local biker gang.
44-year-old Laurie Staley-Stone pleaded guilty in August to exceeding her authorized access to a national crime database.
U.S Attorney Kathleen Mehltretter says Staley-Stone admitted to providing information about a rival biker gang known as the Kingsmen to the Chosen Few Motorcycle Club of Depew. U.S. Magistrate Jeremiah J. McCarthy said in doing so, Staley-Stone's actions put individuals in harm's way.
Staley-Stone's conviction came as a result of an FBI investigation into the activities of the Chosen Few. She resigned earlier this year after having served as the first female detective in the history of the Hamburg Police.
