Brian Miller and Randy Gosa play traditional songs of the north woods. Brian has played the Community Hall before with Irish Bands Chulrua and Bua, but now he is back with a new CD, The Falling of the Pine, featuring songs and tunes the Irish brought to Michigan and the Upper Midwest as they followed the lumber boom West from New England. Brian and Randy sing songs ranging from Irish ballads to Tin Pan Alley comic pieces, accompanying themselves on guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonium and tenor banjo. The concert will be complemented with a slide show of historic photos from the lumbering era. Admission is $10.00. Children are free.
