Minnesota's top gambling official says he wants the state to investigate whether Barack Obama's campaign is using an illegal raffle to raise money.
The director of Minnesota's Gambling Control Board points to a letter on Obama's campaign Web site. It says anyone donating $5 or more by the end of the month could be among 10 supporters chosen to be flown to the Democratic Convention in Colorado. Those selected will get to meet Obama, and also watch him give his acceptance speech in person.
Obama's campaign says this is not a drawing. Details about the selection process aren't given, and a spokesman says a variety of factors will be considered.
Only nonprofit charities can conduct raffles in Minnesota.
