Music Groups Get Class Action Windfall
Melia Tourangeau is the president of the Grand Rapids Symphony. She says the symphony received close to 50,000 dollars from the settlement.
"It's huge for our budget this year, especially considering state funding is tenuous at best these days and the economy is still struggling in Michigan," she said. "So any type of windfall like this is completely appreciated and needed."
The Detroit symphony received more than 66,000 dollars. That's the largest chunk of the 165,000 dollars shared by the five groups.
