(KPLU) -
This Christmas season is the last for one major West-coast retailer - at least in its brick-and-motar form. Tower Records started in 1960 as a small shop inside a drugstore in Hollywood. It grew over the decades into the place to go for just about any piece of music you could want. It's been eclipsed by lower prices, Internet sites and I-Pods... Some say it's the end of an era. Others say there'll always be a place for old-fashioned recordings. KPLU business and labor reporter Bellamy Pailthorp has the story. 4:33
