Jazzmania 2013 is the Jazz Party of the Year and will feature fine food from Sargent's Fine Catering complimentary wine and beer from Lipman Brothers, and music from some of the area's finest jazz artists. This year's featured artists are saxophonist Evan Cobb, vocalist Sandra Dudley, and very special guest, NJW faculty and Board member emeritus and internationally renowned saxophonist, Kirk Whalum!
A special feature of the the event is a live and silent auction, with unique and desirable items that include vacation packages, tickets to top events, special dinner packages, in-home concerts, artwork by the city’s top artists, and much more. The signature feature of our silent auction is Small Works – a collection of small canvases with paintings by some of the area's top artists, produced especially for this event. Guests will enjoy browsing the works and placing bids on their top picks in fun competition with other patrons - the ultimate proceeds going entirely to benefit the mission of the school.
The Honorary Event Chairperson for Jazzmania this year is Ken Roberts, a mainstay of Nashville's business and nonprofit community and longtime friend of the Jazz Workshop. Ken is also an expert on the American Popular Song, and has contributed his talents to many programs in the "Jazz on the Move" Series. The Workshop is honored and delighted to have Ken's help with this event.
