Division of Charitable Solicitations
Any person or group that appeals to the public for support of its charitable cause is a "charitable organization". Persons or organizations that intend to solicit donations must register before asking the public for contributions.
Excluded from the requirement to register are religious institutions and affiliated groups; educational institutions and supporting organizations; volunteer fire departments, rescue squads and local civil defense organizations; and, organizations that receive contributions less than $30,000 annually.
(Excluded groups are required, however, to complete and file an "Exemption Request" form.)

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day, hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. It is sponsored by the National Environmental Education and Training Foundation in partnership with Take Pride in America®.
On September 28, 2013, volunteers will join National Park Service employees as they work to improve the cultural landscapes and natural resources of Stones River National Battlefield by eliminating exotic plants and restoring neglected areas.
Volunteers should wear long pants, work boots, and work gloves.
Lunch will be provided at 12:00 p.m.
WHEN: September 28, 2013 - Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: Enter through new park entrance at 1563 North Thompson Lane. Park aas directed near the visitor center.
