Continuing a "time-warped" MSU Halloween tradition, MSU's Claypool-young Art Gallery, Department of Art & Design, ALLYance, and Arts and Humanities Council will once again present the annual MSU Costume Contest and Rocky Horror Picture Show Film Screening on Wednesday, October 30 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. in the Claypool-Young Art Building on the MSU Main campus.
Campus and community folk are invited to express themselves through costume during the contest, held in the Claypool-Young Art Gallery. The celebration starts at 6:00 p.m. with refreshments, live music and costume contest sign up. The costume parade and judging will be held at 7:00 p.m. First, second, and thirdplace MSU Bookstore certificate prizes in the amounts of $75, $50, and $25 (respectively), will be awarded to MSU students by local jurors.
Immediately following the contest, the film screening of the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be shown in the Claypool-Young Art Building auditorium, room 111. Audience members are invited to participate and relive Richard O'Brien's sinfully twisted salute to horror, sci-fi, B-movies and rock music - a "sensual daydream to treasure forever" - starring Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, and Susan Sarandon. Do the "Time Warp" and sing "Hot Patootie" with Meatloaf! The movie, which debutedin 1975, has been a beloved audience participation event for over twenty five years.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Jennifer Reis, gallery director, at 606.783.5446 or email@example.com.
