WKU military historian says casualties in Iraq may increase as troops draw down

Although policy decisions regarding the war in Afghanistan have drawn more headlines recently, it's been a very deadly week for US troops in Iraq. The US military says 13 soldiers were killed in Baghdad in just three days. Dr. Jack Thacker studies military history in the WKU History Department. He says casualties sometimes increase as troop numbers are drawn down. He spoke to our Dan Modlin.

McConnell will support Obama if President boosts Afghan war effort

A new report from the top US commander in Afghanistan is raising questions about whether the US should do more to support the war effort in that country. General Stanley McChrystal says "under-resourcing" the Afghanistan war could lead to defeat. Kentucky's senior US Senator, Mitch McConnell, says he'll support President Obama if the administration takes steps to provide additional military support. McConnell spoke to our Dan Modlin.
