(wkyu) - The rubber stamp Russian parliament has voted to recognize the independence of two sections of the Georgian Republic, South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Russia and Georgia recently fought a brief war over South Ossetia, with the US warning Moscow not to try to break apart Georgia.
