07-22-2009: Pizza Hut with Chicken Wings

(WKNO) - McDonald's has one big advantage over other brands: it's name. McDonald's can add anything to its menu without conflicting with its name, unlike, say, Pizza Hut. Now, Pizza Hut is trying to rebrand itself by adding new menu items of pasta and chicken wings, as well as a new name, "the Hut." New companies usually specialize, making it hard to add new categories later. Foresight in naming your company can help save time and money when you expand into new categories.
